The major floods that occurred in Spain, caused by a storm associated with ex-Hurricane Gabrielle, have resulted in severe damage across several regions of the eastern peninsula. Valencia, Zaragoza, and Tarragona have reported flooded homes, businesses, and roads, along with power outages and school closures in over 240 municipalities.
In Zaragoza, the overflow of the Huerva River affected hospitals and residential areas, while Tarragona experienced record rainfall exceeding 240mm. Multiple rescues have been carried out, thousands of emergency calls have been received, and alerts have been activated to warn the population of extreme risk.
As vrs Adjusters, we are ready to assist with a dedicated NatCat team coordinated locally.
